As a profession, anesthesia technology is commonly divided between two certified groups:

  • Certified Anesthesia Technicians (Cert.A.T.)
  • Certified Anesthesia Technologists (Cert.A.T.T.)
  • The American Society of Anesthesia Technologist & Technicians (ASATT) recognizes only those individuals who have passed their ASATT National Certification
  • Exam (NCE) through an accredited or otherwise approved educational program.
