Healthcare Human Resources Week – the third week of March – is designated to recognize human resources professionals in healthcare organizations across the nation for their important role across the continuum of care. We are excited to recognize SpecialtyCare’s awesome People Team for the critical role they play in supporting our teams across the country!
We sat down with members of our SpecialtyCare Human Resources to share answers to questions such as the role they play in the department, how their role fits into the important mission and vision of SpecialtyCare, and what propelled them to pursue a role in human resources and specifically healthcare.
What do you love about your role and how fits into the mission and vision of SpecialtyCare?
I love that I get to support our Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) team at SpecialtyCare. It’s important to have sufficient support in the OR for IONM coverage, and I get to help support that team. It’s important for me to stay up to date with the IONM community and continue to be a resource for those in this field. I keep them updated on opportunities that SpecialtyCare has open and work to build a relationship with those in the IONM field.
What propelled you to pursue a career in Human Resources and specifically healthcare?
I had been an IT recruiter for 5 years, prior to joining SpecialtyCare. I enjoy the process of working with candidates and helping them find opportunities that match their skillset. However, getting more involved in healthcare recruiting was important to me because even though my role doesn’t directly involve patient care, I feel that I am making a difference.
What do you love about your role and how fits into the mission and vision of SpecialtyCare?
I have always been a “people person” and feel very strongly that my spiritual purpose on this earth is to help others. I try to implement that mindset into every aspect of my position here at SpecialtyCare.
What propelled you to pursue a career in Human Resources and specifically healthcare?
I joined SpecialtyCare because I wanted to work for a company that was based on integrity. The healthcare realm has always fascinated me. I actually began undergrad in Pre-Med to become a Pediatrician and then became more fascinated with the human mind and how people interact with one another, so I ended up with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began my Master’s degree with a Clinical and Mental Health Counselor designation in mind. In every capacity I’ve ever held or will hold in the future, my goal has always been, and will always be, to use the skills and gifts God has given me to provide whatever help and assistance I can to positively impact the lives of others.
