In Loving Memory of Jonathan Walters

Dear SpecialtyCare Friends,

It is with a heavy heart and tremendous sense of loss that I share the passing of SpecialtyCare’s President of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM), Jonathan Walters. Jonathan and his wife, Jessica, were in a plane crash just this past Saturday morning in Smyrna, TN.

Jonathan had a strong impact at SpecialtyCare over his 15-year career and he often said that he loved our company like a family. Those who worked alongside or came into contact with him will understand how deeply he felt about doing the right thing for our patients and our people. Over the span of his career, Jonathan oversaw the growth of our IONM and Neurodiagnostic Services as the largest provider in the nation. More importantly, he was a cherished colleague and dedicated champion for our clinicians. He and his team developed opportunities for clinicians to receive both superior medical training and professional growth opportunities. He had an energy that most could only admire, and his leadership and passion for people touched everyone who knew him.

Jonathan and his wife, Jessica, will be greatly missed by the SpecialtyCare community. It is at this moment that we are responding the way he would want us to, through love and support for each other.  SpecialtyCare is fortunate that Jonathan’s legacy includes building a leadership team that will continue to deliver exceptional lifesaving care to the patients, hospitals and surgeons we serve.

As Jonathan would want, let us come together in support of each other as we honor the life of Jonathan Walters and his wife, Jessica.
