About Albuquerque, New Mexico

With gorgeous sunsets, stunning views, and culture galore, Albuquerque has an enormous amount to offer. The city backs up to the Sandia mountains, thought to be named for their reddish hue at sunset, as sandia means watermelon in Spanish. To take it all in, you’ll want to take the city’s aerial tramway to the Sandia Crest, the highest point of the mountains east of the city. You’ll get an incredible panoramic view of over 11,000 square miles. And with sunshine consistent for 310 days out of the year, there is plenty of opportunity for outdoor excursions. The temperatures are not as extreme as one might think with this desert atmosphere. It’s in the 60s or above from March to October. The hottest month is July with an average of 93-degree days but the temps drop in the evening.

So Much Culture

Albuquerque encompasses a blend of Spanish, Mexican, and Native American cultures and is uniquely home to 22 different Native American Indian tribes, including the well-known Navajo and Apaches. There is no shortage of cultural events and celebrations throughout the year. From dance and art at The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center to The New Mexico State Fair, voted #6 in the country by attendance, there’s always something to do. Old Town is a gorgeous centuries-old part of Albuquerque that still looks like the original town with Adobe buildings that span 10 blocks and are always filled with events and festivals.

Working for SpecialtyCare

Hospitals and surgeons across the country trust SpecialtyCare to provide neuromonitoring services in their OR not because we are the largest, but because we have the best, most highly skilled team of clinicians available. Our surgical neurophysiologists are required to become certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) and we have more Diplomates of the American Board of Neurophysiologic Monitoring (DABNM) than any other neuromonitoring provider. As an associate, you’ll have exposure to continued learning and career growth opportunities, whether that’s in clinical management or research and data. Our one-of-a-kind database SCOPE™ (SpecialtyCare Operative Procedural Registry) houses data from every case we take part in. This provides a tremendous learning opportunity for our teams and pushes us to continuously improve patient outcomes.

We offer a number of unique benefits in addition to generous PTO, including paid professional memberships, professional development opportunities, and tuition assistance and reimbursement programs. If you are interested in becoming part of our Albuquerque IONM team, please reach out to us today!
