Position Requirements and Valued Competencies

If you’d like to apply to be our Surgical Neurophysiologist in Bakersfield, these are the position requirements:

  • CNIM and/or D.ABNM certification required
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a science related field required
  • A minimum of two years’ experience; five plus years of experience preferred
  • The ability to work on call
  • Ability to cover hospitals/surgeons in both Bakersfield and Los Angeles throughout the week depending on caseload.

How much travel is involved?

Travel is on a volunteer basis. You can even earn travel bonuses!

How often will I be on call?

You’ll be on call one weekend per month. You can also be paid to be on call — with opportunities for additional payment for working certain cases. Earning extra income over a weekend is quite common (and it could put an extra $6-7K in your pocket every year!).

What’s the work-life balance for this position?

Yours to choose. We offer per diem, part-time, or full-time employment opportunities for this position.

What kinds of cases will I see?

The team sees a variety of cases! Typical cases are spine and ENT cases. Members of this team occasionally monitor craniotomies, peripheral nerve, carotid endarterectomies.
