ECMO Didactic/Wet Lab 2.5-day educational course

SpecialtyCare’s ECLS on-site Education and Training Program represents both a strategic and practical course that incorporates ELSO’s guidelines and recommendations for new ECMO Specialists. During the 2.5- day training course, the course will cover a broad range of ECMO management, challenges, trouble shooting and emergencies as well as standard  day-to-day monitoring and management of ECMO. Each trainee should already be a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse. The 2.5-day program is designed for learners having no ECMO experience to bedside RT’s and RN’s who care for ECMO patients currently or in the past. Upon successful completion and passing the final exam, student will receive a formal Certificate of Completion and 16 CEU’s.

ECMO Simulation Training

ECMO Simulation Training course

This one-day simulation course takes the didactic course and brings the content to life through nine high-fidelity scenarios. These scenarios challenge physicians, advanced practice providers, and ECMO Specialists to think critically, recognize both circuit and patient-related issues for the ECMO patient, and practice hands-on skills regarding ECMO emergencies. Students will earn 8 CME/CEU’s upon successful completion of the course.

ECMO Cannulation Course

ECMO CANNULATION Course

The training will include a comprehensive didactic session with presentations discussing ECMO cannulation techniques, strategies, patient selection and troubleshooting; Fundamentals of ECMO, patient identification, pre and post procedure best practices, cannulation selections, sonography and hospital credentialing.

A hands-on training session will follow. The learner will have the ability to practice hands-on cannulation techniques, utilizing a simulation mannequin through specific case studies/ drills. The learner will have the opportunity to learn from skilled physicians and have the opportunity for Q&A.
