Music Festivals

San Bernardino just so happens to feature some of the biggest and most unique annual music festivals in Southern California and the country. First off, the city often hosts Ozzfest, the ultimate heavy metal and hard rock festival hosted by Ozzy Osbourne himself. Last year’s line-up featured acts such as Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Body Count and Jonathan Davis. Sam Bernardino is also home to the Wonderland Festivals, an epic, three-part concert series every year with Beyond Wonderland in the spring, Nocturnal Wonderland in the fall, and Escape From Wonderland on Halloween weekend. The first concert sets the tone for electronic music all year, and all three shows are infamous for residents breaking out their glowsticks every night.

Big Bear Lake

Within an hour of San Bernardino is Big Bear Lake, the ultimate four-season outdoor hotspot that sits on the banks of the fish-filled lake itself. There you can find Bear Mountain Ski Resort (with terrain parks and learner slopes), and the family-friendly Snow Summit Ski Resort. Just think about being that close by if you feel like hitting the slopes in the winter. Big Bear Village is loaded with restaurants, boutiques and gift shops while the whole area is surrounded by the gorgeous San Bernardino National Forest, which is loaded with mountain trails. Big Bear also has the Alpine Zoo, which is one of the two Alpine zoos in all of the entire United States.

Near Los Angeles and Palm Springs

If what we’ve mentioned so far doesn’t do it for you, surely this will. San Bernardino is less than an hour away from both Palm Springs and the City of Angels, covering your entertainment needs for a lifetime. First, you’ve got Los Angeles, featuring the best comedy shows, concerts, sporting events and movie events in the world. And most importantly, these events are happening all the time because it’s where the celebrities and performers live and where they work the most. Not a fan of any of this and would rather have some peace and relaxation? Head in the other direction to Palm Springs and enjoy a weekend stay at one of their many five-star resorts, or hit the green on one of their dozen world-class golf courses. You can even control your own climate somewhat. Want warmer? Head to Palm Springs. Cooler? Head to LA.
