SpecialtyCare Announces Christy Kisner as President of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring and Neurodiagnostic Services

June 10, 2021, (Brentwood, TN)-SpecialtyCare, the nation’s leading provider of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM), Perfusion, and Surgical Services, names Christy Kisner as President of SpecialtyCare’s Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Service Line, effective immediately. Kisner brings over 20 years of outstanding clinical and operational experience in healthcare with particular emphasis on the neurosciences.

Kisner joined SpecialtyCare in 2012 as the Vice President of Operations for the Southeast and, in 2013, was promoted to National Vice President of IONM with oversight responsibility for clinical and business operations across the entire country. In 2015, she became Region President, attaining 150% growth, managing over 200 associates, and generating nearly half of the company’s total IONM revenue over her tenure. As a clinician and MBA, Kisner’s unique background has enabled her to lead important service line-wide initiatives that have included enhancing operating room efficiency, improving clinical quality, and promoting associate engagement.

“In our practice, it is truly rare to find a leader who possesses both the unique qualities of a well-respected clinician and strong business acumen. Christy consistently displays excellence in both,” said Sam Weinstein, MD, MBA, CEO of SpecialtyCare. “She is a dynamic individual, dedicated to the care of our patients and our people, and we are thrilled to have Christy leading our Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Service Line.”

Prior to joining SpecialtyCare, Kisner was with Neuromatrix, LLC in Atlanta, GA for 11 years. She began her career as a neurophysiologist before becoming their National Director of Clinical Operations. She earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University and has an MBA from Kennesaw State University.

Kisner will be succeeding Jonathan Walters, SpecialtyCare’s former IONM President. We are thankful for his legacy and the leadership team he cultivated that delivers exceptional lifesaving care to our patients, hospitals, and surgeons. With the full leadership team remaining, Kisner will assume the leadership role over the most dynamic and tenured IONM leadership group in the nation.

“Jonathan Walters was a leader who cared deeply about SpecialtyCare’s mission and doing the right thing for our people, especially those in the IONM Service Line,” said Christy Kisner. “I am committed to continuing this mission as we move forward together as the leader of clinical excellence, patient care, and people-centric initiatives in IONM and Neurodiagnostic Services.”
