SpecialtyCare is honored to share that our abstract entitled: “Experience with 46 patients with COVID-19 and Severe Pulmonary Compromise treated with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation,” has been selected for a presentation and discussion during The Southern Thoracic Association’s (STSA) 2-hour webinar on Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. ET.

This abstract and presentation follow our previous publication in the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs Journal entitled: “Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation in the Treatment of Severe Pulmonary and Cardiac Compromise in COVID-19: Experience with 32 patients.” SpecialtyCare continues to place an important focus on sharing our work with the industry, including a summary of the first 100 patients with COVID-19 treated with ECMO. Our hope is that by sharing our early experience regarding how our surgical partners and perfusionists around the country are managing ECMO in patients with coronavirus, we will enhance decision-making at the bedside.

Delivered through Zoom’s online webinar platform, STSA’s webinar will be presented live on November 5, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. ET, and will be posted on stsa.org to be viewed at a later date. Registration for this event is not required and attendance will be open to any healthcare professional. The full webinar agenda is available here.
