The Beach and the Weather

The weather in Panama City is about as perfect as it gets. With an average annual temperature of 74 degrees and 320 days of sunshine out of the year, the area is practically a sub-tropical wonderland. And it’s all about the beach. It has 27 miles of white sand beaches with green waters where the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay converge. Speaking of St. Andrews, the beach at St. Andrews State Park was named the #2 beach in America by Trip Advisor. The 1,260-acre park has sand dunes, forests, hiking trails, a lagoon swimming area, and two campgrounds.

The beaches in Panama City (with 58 access points) also sees one of the highest concentrations of bottlenose dolphins in the world. And for those of you into fishing, you’ll be in heaven. Panama City fishing is world famous with Red Snapper, Trout, Blue Marlin, Pompano, Cobia, and Mackerel. The area is also home to one of the country’s largest sport fishing fleets, and home to the only deepwater diving museum in the United States, the Man in the Sea Museum.

Always Fun Things to Do

Since it plays host to a large number of visitors every year and the weather is warm all year, the list of attractions in Panama City is endless. For you golfers out there, the city features five 18-hole world class championship golf courses. There are also plenty of hotspots for the family, like the ZooWorld Zoological and Botanical Park, WonderWorks, Coconut Creek Family Fun Park, Gulf World Marine Park, and Shipwreck Island Waterpark, that sports tons of water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool and rapids. There’s also Race City, another popular family amusement park with a steep go-kart track, a roller coaster, arcade games and backlight mini golf.
