Guidry 150pxOn February 1, 2017, SpecialtyCare completed an asset purchase of Trident Health Resources, Inc., a highly regarded, clinically focused perfusion company based in Dunedin, Florida. Founded by CEO and President Ralph E. Jordan in 1988, Trident has a tremendous reputation for providing evidence-based perfusion services with a patient-first approach to care. Developing, respecting, and retaining the best talent possible is fundamental to SpecialtyCare’s goal of improving the delivery of healthcare. That’s why we are so excited to welcome Trident’s people and their deep expertise and experience to our team. As a company, Trident has placed tireless focus on clinical quality, customer service, and innovation throughout its long history. Advanced credentialing, ongoing training, and continuous improvement are intrinsic to its culture, also. These qualities align with SpecialtyCare’s philosophy and are vital to addressing the clinical, financial, and operational challenges of delivering patient-centric, value-based healthcare today.

We’re also excited about Trident’s legacy of data collection. We look forward to adding the team’s clinical data to SCOPE™, the SpecialtyCare Operative Procedural Registry, which will now grow at a rate of more than 120,000 open heart and perfusion-related procedures each year. This will give our newest customers, surgeons, and OR teams access to robust quality reporting that includes national benchmarks and data-driven clinical standards in addition to the best practices that we share with the perfusion industry at large.

Like SpecialtyCare, Trident is certified in Health Care Staffing Services by The Joint Commission. We appreciate the rigor of the company’s quality programs as well as its history of ethical administrative practices and regulatory compliance. As those familiar with business acquisitions know, the successful and smooth integration of two well-established companies depends on the leaders and people of both organizations standing on the common ground of core principles. There is no doubt that our shared commitment to patient care, clinical quality, and corporate integrity will serve us well as we bring our resources together.

With the people of Trident joining SpecialtyCare and moving forward as one team, under one name, we have the opportunity to support each other and learn from each other as we participate in some of the most complex and interesting procedures performed today. We are uniquely positioned to define what superior clinical and financial outcomes look like and to provide those outcomes for our patients and our customers. We are thrilled to join together to serve as a resource for perfusion care and best practices that in-house and competitive programs simply cannot match. It’s an exciting time, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
